Weekly collection of transactions (May 27 - June 2)
• LVMH Métiers d’Art, a subsidiary of French luxury goods group, has increased its stake in the Spanish tannery Riba Guixà and now owns 80%. 1
• Bd-capital launches a Takeover Bid for Netex, a company from Galicia dedicated to the application of apps and service-based-solutions to deliver digital learning in companies and academic institutions. The offer values the company at over 65 million euros. Under the agreement, bd-capital will acquire a majority stake in Netex, through a purchase offer directed at all shareholders. 2
• Clinica Baviera has acquired British group Optimax (Eye Hospitals Group Limited and subsidiaries). Optimax, founded more than 30 years ago, currently has 19 clinics located in the main cities of the United Kingdom from where it offers refractive surgery services and other ophthalmological specialties and a team of more than 130 people, with a turnover in year 2023 of around 17 million euros. 3
• Cefusa, the Fuertes Group’s livestock company, continues to grow in size. To this end, it has just completed the acquisition of the Murcian company Exaga, which has gained some 1,500 pig mothers with which to boost its livestock business. 4
• Poujoulat announces that it has acquired 80% of the capital of Convesa, one of Spain’s top three manufacturers of metal chimney flues, enabling it ‘to significantly increase its international presence’. Offering a complete range of products for the residential, commercial and industrial sectors, Convesa generated sales of 17.5 million euros in 2023, mainly on the international market, and employs almost one hundred people. 5
• Sonepar has signed an agreement for the integration of the Covama group. The Covama group (Covamani) began its journey in the electrical equipment sector in 1968 with a small point of sale in the Madrid district of Usera. Currently, it operates in the market with three companies (Covama, Matel and Dismeva) and the group stands out for seeking excellence in service, offering its clients technical, logistical, commercial and financial solutions. 6
• Grupo Sanz, a spraying and pruning solutions company for the agricultural and garden sector based in Valencia, has acquired the Chinese company FPQ, a leading technology company specialized in pruning tools with lithium batteries. 7
• Capitole acquires ICONUS, IT consulting firm owned by COMSA Corporación, specialized in corporate collaboration and document management tools. 8
• Eurazeo announced the sale of its 25% stake in MCH Private Equity, an asset manager specialized in small cap private equity in Spain. Eurazeo retains an EUR 80 million investment in the MCH V fund. 9
• Cuevas Group, a food chain of Galician origin, has acquired 80% of the supermarket business of El Arco, an Asturian company that was one step away from bankruptcy.10
