Weekly collection of transactions (July 1 - 7)
• IMAP Denmark (Dealhaus) & IMAP Spain (Albia) act as Presto M&A buy-side advisors on the acquisition of Madrid-based Eurofesa. Swedish Presto Group is Europe’s leading company within active fire safety, safety training, and first aid. Founded in 1959, Presto has achieved a turnover of more than 245 million euros, is present in 80 locations and currently has more than 1,500 employees. 1
• Realza Capital has acquired a stake in Entex Textil, a Spanish company with a presence in Mexico and South America. The family business, which is dedicated to the design, manufacture and marketing of fabrics and accessories for home and clothing, is Realza’s fourth investment in a Spanish company in the last two years. Entex currently has a staff of around 200 employees and will have an approximate turnover of 35 million euros in 2024. 2
• Portobello Capital sells its 80% in the manufacturer of precision parts for the automotive and electric bike industries to Stellum Capital. The Government of the Basque Country also participates in the transaction through Ezten and Ekarpen. Portobello joined the company in 2020 when it had around 50 million sales and 7 million EBITDA. Now, turnover is close to 100 million and EBITDA has almost tripled, to close to 20 million. 3
• Grupo Cosmos, a Spanish manufacturer of automotive components whose headquarters are located in Aoiz (Navarra), has acquired the business of manufacturing trunk and floor interior parts and assemblies from Grupo Antolín. The acquired activity includes a Development Center in Austria, as well as the factories in Kecskemet (Hungary), Rastatt (Germany), Alabama (USA) and Silao (Mexico). 4
• Private equity firm Abac Capital is boosting the growth of Iberconseil, the Barcelona cheese distribution company that it bought in June of last year, through acquisitions. The companies acquired are Disalp and Adonis, founded and controlled to date by the French businessman Hervé Davoine. Last year, the company’s turnover was 90 million euros and this year, after the acquisition of Disalp and Adonis, it will be above 120 million, according to Abac. 5
• The Spanish technology consultancy firm Izertis has acquired the British company Projecting which specialises in the financial sector. This is the first acquisition of a company from the UK, one of the main European markets, thus responding to one of the main axes of the 2027 Strategic Plan: expansion in Europe and the USA. This is the company’s first acquisition deal in 2024 and comes on top of 38 other deals during its nearly 28 years of existence. 6
• The independent film distributor A Contracorriente Films (Suma Capital) strengthens its position in the market with the acquisition of Selecta Visión, a Barcelona company founded in 1984 and a pioneer in the distribution of anime audiovisual content, with the aim of consolidating itself as a national reference and expanding its catalog reaches 2,500 films and 4,000 series episodes. A Contracorriente Films closed the 2023 financial year with 27 million euros and with this new transaction, with which it intends to enter the video game sector, it plans to exceed 40 million euros in turnover in 2024. 7
• Zehnder Group acquires the Spanish company Siber (Quarza), a leading regional manufacturer of residential ventilation systems. Zehnder strengthens its residential ventilation business in line with its strategy by acquiring Siber in Spain. Siber expects sales of around EUR 37 million for the 2024 financial year 8
• Wendel joins Providence to support Globeducate, a leading international K-12 education group, through its next phase of growth. Following the transaction, Providence, which has been a Globeducate shareholder since 2017, and Wendel will each own approximately 50% of Globeducate. Founded in 1972 in Spain, Globeducate provides K-12 (primary and secondary) education through a network of 65 premium bilingual and international schools, as well as online programs, across 11 countries mostly in Europe. The Group employs more than 6,000 people, including 4,000 highly qualified teachers. 9
• Roca Group, world leader in the design, production and marketing of products for the bathroom space, acquires Idral, a manufacturer specialized in timed faucets for public and semi-public spaces. The firm, located in the town of Gargallo, Novara (in Italian Piedmont) and owned by the families of the founding partners Vasconi and Angiolini, has a turnover of 10.3 million euros, according to 2023 data. The company is located in a geographic cluster of taps, Cusio Valsesia, together with 87 companies that bring together 20% of the national production of these products. 10
