Weekly collection of transactions (October 14 - 20)
• Ziacom Group (Suma Capital), a leading company in dental solutions, continues its global growth with the acquisition of 55% of Safe Implant Ecuador, an emerging company that is expanding in the Latin American market. This transaction follows the recent incorporation of two Italian companies specialized in biomaterials and dental implants: Ubgen and ITS Implants. 1
• ILUNION acquires Meinsa Sistemas and strengthens its value proposition in data centers and cybersecurity. For ILUNION IT Services, the acquisition of Meinsa Sistemas, a company specialising in the integration of high added value services in IT infrastructure and in the marketing of standard IT infrastructure products, is strategic, not only because it allows it to grow in a key sector, but also to do so in Catalonia, a very important territory for the company. 2
• Bollo Natural Fruit (Fremman Capital) is moving forward with its inorganic growth project after completing the integration of Hermanos Bruñó, S G Marzal, ALG Natur Green (Iberhanse) and Bollo International Fruits in the last two years. Bollo Natural Fruit has taken a further step in its expansion plan after acquiring Cítricos Naturfrut, better known as ‘Serena Oranges’, last July. This is a company specialising in premium oranges. 3
• Link, Bemobile & Consultia join forces in Linkroad to create a benchmark group in technological innovation in Iberia. The group, owned by Henko Partners, has a turnover of more than 60 million euros and is positioned as a benchmark consultancy in technology, innovation, design and communication. Linkroad will have an international reach from the outset, with a team of 700 people spread across offices in Portugal, Spain, Brazil, Panama, Abu Dhabi and Saudi Arabia. 4
• Two companies specialising in the industrial kitchen projects sector, the Guipuzcoan company Comercial Hostelera and the Madrid-based Ibertrasa Ibérica del Transformado, have announced their strategic union. In July 2023, the Stellum Food & Tech fund joined the shareholding of Comercial Hostelera with the aim of accelerating its growth plan. This investor has facilitated the current alliance with Ibertrasa, as both companies explain in a statement. For its part, Ibertrasa, with more than 30 years of experience and a consolidated presence at a national level, complements Comercial Hostelera with its capacity to manufacture specialised furniture for the hospitality industry, which allows it to offer turnkey solutions, ranging from design to final installation. 5
• The Valencian distributor Kuups Design International, better known by its commercial brand ‘Economy Cash’, has agreed to sell several establishments to the Tarragona-based Fragadis - which has acquired 30 stores - and the Valencian cooperative Consum, which has acquired nine. The transaction affects 39 supermarkets, with around 47,000 m2, spread across the provinces of Alicante, Castellón, Valencia, Albacete, Murcia and Tarragona.6
• The Azpeitia-based Biele group has acquired a majority stake in KBD Automation GmbH, based in Cologne (Germany) and whose activity focuses on the development of specialized engineering projects in packaging lines. 7
• Warner Music, the third largest record label in the world, is betting on the concert and music festival business in Spain. The record giant has acquired 100% of The Project, the Catalan company that organises 400 concerts a year and is responsible for events such as the Barcelona Jazz Festival and the Porta Ferrada Festival. 8
• The meat company Zander Foods has acquired Progust (Imperia Foie), its sixth acquisition in three years. This company is based in Riudellots de la Selva (Gironès) and is dedicated to the breeding of geese and ducks in collaboration with specialised farms, and has a 2,300 square metre processing plant in Girona. 9
• The Mauffrey Group is now implanted in Spain thanks to the acquisition of Global Feed Ecotrans. Already established in Luxembourg and Poland for several years, the Mauffrey Group is expanding further in other European countries in order to find new sources of growth. After Italy and thanks to the acquisition of La Nettatutto, the Mauffrey will now operate in Spain. 10
