• Saica Group acquires Ecovidal to strengthen its presence in the Madrid region. Ecovidal manages 53,000 tonnes of waste annually, mostly paper and cardboard. With 10 million euros of turnover, Ecovidal has been supplying recycled paper to Saica Paper mills for over four decades. 1

• DIA Group has agreed to sell its perfume chain Clarel to the Colombian group Trinity for a maximum amount of 42,2 million euros. This transaction includes Clarel’s 1.000 stores and 3 logistics center. The deal is part of DIA’s strategy to focus on its core supermarket business and reducing its debt. 2

• Affidea, an European provider of advanced diagnostic imaging and cancer care services, has expanded its presence in Valencia, Spain, by acquiring Clínica Atenea. This acquisition enhances Affidea’s network in Spain, adding to its portfolio of 31 centers across the country. 3

• Prodware, a technology company specializing in digital transformation, has acquired Valladolid-based Nut Consulting. This acquisition strengthens Prodware’s Microsoft ecosystem in Castilla y León, Spain. 4

• Endurance acquired Qualque and Distribuidora Joan, specializing in paper napkin production and logistics services, respectively. Since its inception in 2011, Endurance has specialized in acquiring family-owned companies facing economic challenges or succession issues. The combined turnover of Qualque and Distribuidora Joan (including its subsidiary Macline Import) is 20 million euros, with a workforce of over 90 employees. 5

• Siemens has acquired BuntPlanet, a Basque company specializing in artificial intelligence for the water sector. 6

• Denarius Metals acquires 50% interest of Rio Narcea Recursos, which has the rights to exploit the historic producing Aguablanca nickel-copper mine located in Monesterio, Extremadura, Spain. 7

• Renfe, the Spanish national railway company, has increased its stake and secured a position on the board of the startup iMotion Analytics. This move is part of Renfe’s strategy to enhance its technological capabilities and innovation in transport services. iMotion Analytics specializes in analyzing passenger flows and behaviors using artificial intelligence and big data. 8

• Vidrala, a leading glass packaging manufacturer, has completed the acquisition of a 100% stake in Vidroporto, a Brazilian glass container company. This acquisition is part of Vidrala’s strategy to expand its global footprint and enhance its production capabilities. Vidroporto expected sales in 2023 amount to 160 million euros and EBITDA to 56 million. 9

• Mirai (Sidenor), a Spanish investment group, has expanded its presence in Gipuzkoa by acquiring IDK, a company specializing in electro-mechanical maintenance and industrial assembly. 10
